Leander Veterinary Clinic is looking for a Licensed Veterinary Technician or a Veterinary Assistants to join our team.
Come join us in our new state-of-the art 8,000 sq ft facility nestled in the heart of Leander. Our busy 5 doctor veterinary practice is looking for a friendly, organized, and responsible full time technicians. Our preferred candidate must have some veterinary experience, exemplary customer service, possess the ability to learn and adapt quickly, multi-task and maintain a positive attitude. Our motto is Where pets are family. This position collaborates closely with the veterinarians on staff and with our clients to make sure that the highest level of pet care is achieved. This position will assist in all veterinary services and fundamentals to ensure that all services are provided prior to the pet(s) leaving the hospital. As Veterinary Technician/Assistance your duties will included but are not limited to; tech rooms, have good restraining skills, answer clients questions and concerns, conduct laboratory test including blood test, fecal examinations, urinalysis, skin scraping, and have knowledge on vaccinations, as well as be able to perform a variety of medical procedures as directed by the veterinarian.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to listen to clients and provide quality feedback
Have a professional appearance and demeanor
Good time management
Ability to understand and follow instructions
General cleaning and hospital maintenance
Maintaining medical and lab equipment
Ability to monitor/assist in surgical procedures
Collect and prepare samples for in-house and reference lab
Monitor and perform routine treatment on hospital patients
Placement of IV catheter and administer IV, IM, and SQ medications
Ability to take and assist with radiographs
Administer first aid for emergencies
Administer medication and treatments
Provide any other general support to the veterinarian and other hospital employees as need
This job requires some day shifts, evening shifts, weekend shifts , and holiday shifts.
