As the Head, Legal, US & Global Surgical, you will be trusted to lead the legal support for the US Surgical Business and Global Surgical Franchise teams acting as a strategic legal partner. In this role, a typical day will include:
Act as subject matter expert, applying deep legal expertise and practices with superior working knowledge.
Build relationships with and counsel senior business partners and senior management on complex matters including commercial proposals, new product launches, and the integration of acquisitions.
Represent Legal on respective teams within Alcon to provide critical legal perspectives.
Collaborate and develop new and creative strategies to improve site culture. Anticipate and provide assessments of changing regulations while identifying vital changes to internal policies and processes.
Training and advising management on new legal trends and legislation in relevant areas.
Assess, manage and monitor legal risks to the organization and articulate identified risks to management.
Supports Head Legal, North America & Global Franchises and the rest of the Legal leadership team in achieving the vision and mission of the Legal Function.
Continuously develop personal and professional skills.

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO ALCON:
Juris Doctorate.
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English.
10 years directly related experience, to include 10 years leading people
Experience within the Medical Device industry.
HOW YOU CAN THRIVE AT ALCON:
Experience working as an in-house counsel.
Ability to operate and thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Proven experience in advising on Legal and business risks as they arise within a regulated healthcare business.
Experience in leading the legal support of one or more key businesses.
Experience in the medical device or other life sciences industry is highly preferred.
Collaborate with Senior Leaders in an effort to continually improve the eye health market.
