ROLE SUMMARY:

The People (HR) Specialist aids with all Human Resources related initiatives, ensuring that the company culture is proactive, follows compliance, and advances practices that promote an atmosphere of continuous improvement and growth. Areas of oversight may include, but are not limited to: employee relations, benefits, payroll, engagement and performance management.

JOB RESPONSIBILITES:

Partner with Training Coordinator on new hire onboarding process by ensuring new hire paperwork is completed and managing timely access to email and systems/software.

Assists in coordination of annual engagement programs and initiatives.

Assists in responding to HR inquiries including, but not limited to: benefits, leaves of absence (FMLA/PFMLA), company policy, payroll/pay, ad hoc requests (badges, business cards, etc.)

Maintains HRIS (Workday) data ensuring accurate information.

Support People Business Partner in aspects of talent & performance management along with labor relations.

Maintains a close and positive relationship with multiple departments and employee populations.

JOB QUALIFCATIONS: A general knowledge of Human Resources principles.

Excellent ability to network, collaborate, and bring people together.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office and other office related software.

Excellent people skills with the proven ability to motivate team members.

Strong analytic skills with an ability to analyze complex situations.

An ability to quickly adapt to change/changing situations.

Previous experience with union environments is a plus.
