Job Overview:
In support of Philadelphia’s goal to end the HIV epidemic, the Philadelphia Department of Public Health, Division of HIV/AIDS (DHH) seeks a Pre-Exposure(PrEP)/Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) Coordinator who will support DHH’s development and implementation of expanded community activities to promote PrEP and PEP.
The PrEP/PEP Coordinator will work closely with community-based organizations (CBOs) to enhance the acceptance and application of PrEP and PEP among priority populations, including gay, bisexual, and transgender individuals, men who have sex with men, and individuals who inject drugs. The coordinator's role will involve implementing HIV prevention programs activities to increase PrEP/PEP adoption and adherence and ensure proper care connections for these populations. This position reports to the DHH Prevention Manager and will involve close collaboration with other Prevention team members.
Responsibilities:
Creating and implementing awareness and outreach programs for PrEP/PEP aimed at key demographic groups in Philadelphia.
Facilitating training workshops and providing expert advice to Community-Based Organizations (CBOs) about PrEP and PEP policies, usage, and adherence.
Partnering with community allies to boost PrEP screening, fast-track PrEP linkage, and increase PrEP prescriptions among individuals who show signs of needing PrEP.
Promoting PEP-focused advertisements across diverse social platforms, dating applications, print media, and outdoor advertising.
Discovering new local community partners for PrEP in the region.
Ensuring effective communication among inter-agency and intra-agency service providers to coordinate HIV prevention services successfully.
Handling the stock of HIV prevention educational materials and supervising their distribution within the community.
Regularly review and assess the effectiveness of the current programs and strategies and make necessary adjustments to ensure they meet the community's needs.
Host and participate in community events to raise awareness and foster a sense of community involvement and support for HIV prevention efforts.
Regularly analyze collected data and generate reports to evaluate the effectiveness of the PrEP/PEP programs and use this data to guide decision-making.
Stay updated with the latest research and developments in the field of PrEP/PEP and HIV prevention to ensure that the program is always utilizing the most effective and up-to-date methods.

Education Requirement:
No minimum education required, lived experience and community workers strongly encouraged to apply.
Public health degree (BA, BS, MPH) or background preferred, public health and community work experience exchangeable.
Diverse candidates with marginalized/vulnerable population identities strongly encouraged to apply.
Skills:
Strong interpersonal, facilitation and team building skills, and ability to work across agencies and cross-culturally with diverse team.
Strong interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software and virtual platforms
Ability to multi-task and demonstrate flexibility in responding to change
Experience:
Required: HIV background, knowledge with specific focus on HIV prevention
Knowledge of PrEP/PEP guidelines and medication options
Experience working with key populations and community-based organizations
Knowledge of current issues in HIV prevention and care
Comfortability and competency with marginalized/vulnerable populations and community members
Preferred: Two years of experience in HIV prevention, testing and linkage to care
Commensurate with education and experience level.
