The Vice President of Finance will bring financial expertise, leadership skills, and an entrepreneurial spirit to oversee our financial operations. You will be critical in shaping our company's financial future, driving growth, and ensuring financial integrity and compliance. Your strategic planning and exceptional analytical skills will be instrumental in guiding our company toward sustainable economic success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Drive the success of short-term objectives while holding the company's long-term vision.
• Develop an in-depth understanding of the industry, financial levers, customers, business strategy, and the Johnstone organization to catalyze financial performance and meet critical financial metrics.
• Develop a budget culture throughout the company by mentoring department heads in developing and supporting their budgetary process.
• Evaluate and manage risks to safeguard the organization's assets and people.
• Oversee all aspects of the finance departments (credit and accounting teams)
• Develop the teams’ capabilities to deliver efficient systems and solutions.
• Execute long-range business planning
• Maintain Financial management systems
• Maintain existing and establish new banking relationships
• Oversee Financial reporting and compliance
• Develop strong relationships with the Leadership Team and Board Members, ensuring they receive accurate reporting of the company's financial status, critical financial information, and recommendations to drive the strategic plan.
• Provide forward-looking strategic management and oversight of the company's financial position through forecasting, modeling, benchmarking, and budgeting to ensure successful business outcomes to drive revenue growth, enhance gross margins, manage expenses, and improve profitability.
• Provide timely and accurate monthly and yearly financial reporting, translating financial insights into initiatives that foster innovation, operational efficiency, and a competitive advantage for the company.

• Oversee financial policies, procedures, and systems to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the company's financial statements and financial reports.
• Oversee the company's financial operations and ensure timely and accurate financial reports and practices, including cash management, financial disbursements, and ledgers.
• Develop and implement financial policies and procedures to ensure operational efficiency.
• Conduct analyses to make forecasts and report to upper executives.
• Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal financial regulations and tax laws.
• Oversee the preparation of all financial reporting, including income statements, balance sheets, reports to shareholders, tax returns, and reports for government regulatory agencies.
• Supervise investment and fundraising efforts to achieve financial goals.
• Manage the accounting, investor relations, legal, tax, and treasury departments.
• Oversee the budgeting process and implement budgets to monitor and control progress against goals.
• Provide strategic financial input and leadership on decision-making issues affecting the organization.
• Evaluate the finance division structure and team to continuously improve the group's efficiency and effectiveness and provide individuals with professional and personal growth opportunities.
• Develop relationships with banking, insurance, and non-organizational accounting personnel to facilitate financial activities.
• Ensure that adequate internal controls are in place and take steps to enhance, where necessary, the internal control systems within the company.
• Monitor and analyze monthly operating results against the budget.
Requirements: QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Education / Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field; Master’s preferred
• CPA or CFA designation is highly desirable
• Proven experience as Vice President of Finance, finance officer, or relevant role
• Experience with budget management and private funding.
• Experience with financial reporting to C-level executives and the board of directors
Job-Specific Knowledge:
• Comprehensive understanding of financial management principles
• In-depth knowledge of corporate financial law and risk management practices
• Excellent understanding of data analysis and forecasting methods
• Knowledge of GAAP reporting requirements
• Proficient in the use of MS Office and financial management software
