Human Resources Director (Manufacturing)

The ideal candidate will support the full scope of Human Resources responsibilities and partner with the organization on strategic initiatives. They will maintain and enhance the organization's human resources by planning, implementing, and evaluating human resources policies, programs, and practices.
Responsibilities
Developing and implementing HR policies and procedures. Ensuring compliance with labor laws and regulations.
Administering payroll and ensuring accurate and timely processing. Managing salary structures and compensation-related matters.
Contributes to the execution of talent acquisition projects and manages the recruiting process including retention.
Provide ongoing training and guidance of managers and employees
Prepare paperwork and schedules for smooth new-hire onboarding process, coordinating with cross-functional departments to deliver an exceptional first-day experience
Handle all administrative tasks for onboarding, new-hire orientations, and exit interviews, including data entry in human resources information systems (HRIS) and audits for accuracy and compliance
Collaborate with management on strategic planning related to workforce, employee development, and labor relations.
Managing employee benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and other perks.
Provide a dedicated and effective HR advisory service to employees that covers absence and health issues, conduct and capability, grievances, organizational change, and all other employee-relations matters
Implementing performance appraisal processes. Providing feedback to employees and assisting in setting performance goals.
Manage and resolve employee issues and conflicts.
Assist in the communication, interpretation, and upkeep of employee handbook, employee directory, and organizational chart, and contribute to policy development
Evaluate company structure and design to achieve business goals through workforce planning and talent management strategies.
Creates, maintains, and transforms the workplace culture by actively working on aligning the work environment with the company values and mission.
Contribute to high-level strategic decision-making with the CEO, COO, or CFO.
Understand current organizational structure and job responsibilities in order to collaborate with managers and other key staff to design recruitment, selection and onboarding processes that are legally compliant and support the ongoing development of a highly diverse and engaged workforce
Serve as key thought partner to leadership when new hires, positions and shifts in organizational structure are needed
Work collaboratively with managers and other key staff to identify processes and initiatives for staff to feel understood and valued, knowledgeable about benefits and resources, and assisted to mutually solve problems
Investigate and recommend retention strategies to leadership that align with the company's goal to sustain a high-performing culture
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or relevant experience
5+ years' Human Resources experience in a manufacturing environment is required
Strong recruiting and demonstrated ability to improve talent acquisition strategies
Proven track record of broad and progressive generalist experience in human resources
Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, and employee relations
Demonstrated success collaboratively designing and implementing innovative HR programs and initiatives that help create and sustain a thriving and equitable workplace culture
Proven skillful relationship-builder and communicator with ability to gain trust and influence people across the organization
Demonstrated expertise training managers and employees
Strong organizational, critical thinking and communications skills
Attention to detail and good judgement
Knowledge of HR systems and databases
Knowledge of payroll processing
In-depth knowledge of labor law and HR best practices
Demonstrated ability in organization restructuring, design, and realignment
