**Job Overview**:
Overair is seeking an experienced Chief Test Pilot to guide our company's internal development testing and support development of Butterfly's FBW flight control system and handling and flying qualities.
**Roles and Responsibilities:**
Significantly guide the development of the Butterfly vehicle with a specific focus on S&C and FBW Development as well as HQ/FQ evaluations in the simulator and eventually flight vehicle. Support of the flight control system development may include frequency domain testing, performance testing, flight demonstrations and many new and novel propulsion and control systems. In addition, this role will play an integral part in standing up Overair's flight operations and serve as a key focal within the Flight Test organization.
Other duties include:
* Flight test plan development
* Conduct technical and safety reviews
* Perform flight simulation evaluations
* Provide leadership and guidance to other project test pilots
* Participate in the development of the aircraft's flight manual
* Schedule, coordinate and lead Test Readiness Reviews
* Hold Flight Readiness Reviews and other presentations
* Gather and analyze aircraft data and specifications, assessing the aircraft's features, documenting every procedure, and making a list of recommendations to improve the aircraft's overall quality and performance
* Contribute to the aircraft design with respect to pilot interface and human factors
* Evaluate various instruments and systems, performing maintenance checks as necessary.
This work will be geared towards company development testing. Longer term, this role will support certification actives and perform production/experimental flight tests of aircraft and systems to assure compliance with FAA.
**Required Qualifications:**
* 15+ years flight test experience as PIC of of an experimental aircraft
* Test Pilot School and Masters Degree or equivalent
* Experience with performance and S&C background and subject mater expertise in the areas of FBW Flight Controls, Handling Qualities and Flight Qualities. Familiarization with ADS-33 will be viewed favorable
* Experience conducting test on programs pursuing FAA/TCCA/EASA Certification
* Experience in Type Certification programs for fixed/rotary-wing aircraft
* Experience in the development of aircraft certification basis
