Now Hiring Project Engineer and Estimatorfor FULL-TIME work to help with large project expansion and rapid growth. Join a great company looking for top talent to join a team of like-minded career professionals building an Industry Leading Commercial General Construction Company in Dallas/ Ft Worth areas.
Estimator is responsible for coordination and implementation of construction estimating/bidding controls, administration, document management and technical coordination as it relates to bidding and budgeting projects.
Develop a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the estimating and bidding process (including solicitation methods and packages that contain plans, specifications, applicable codes and market pricing).
Manage and implement construction estimating systems at the corporate office and/or designated project and utilize appropriate resources to successfully develop budget and bid pricing to secure and deliver projects for new and current clients. Pricing efforts include: Program budget estimates, estimates produced throughout various customer design phases, Guaranteed Maximum Price Development, Stipulated Sum and Cost-Plus Development. Implement the process of design drawings, specifications and all other construction documents reviews that apply to successfully assemble and deliver bids, budgets and guaranteed maximum prices for prospective and current clients.
Project Engineer is responsible for management and implementation of construction project controls, project administration, document management and technical coordination of work on a given project.
Develop a comprehensive working knowledge and understanding of the contract documents (including the Company contract with the client, plans, specifications and applicable codes).
Ensure strict adherence to safety, ethics and compliance requirements at all times.
Coordinate and maintain procedures with the design professionals, consultants, owner and subcontractors for information flow, approvals, meetings, reporting, applications for payment, etc.
Work with preconstruction, estimating and purchasing in development of Guaranteed Maximum Price or initial project budget. Coordinate preconstruction efforts as it relates to Project Engineering and the specific project needs.
Conduct thorough construction document reviews and examine all documents for constructability and QA/QC. Bring all concerns to the attention of the appropriate design professional for resolution.
Work with Project Manager in development of scopes of work for Source Subcontract Development.
Prepare a procurement schedule for subcontractors, major material and equipment purchases to ensure timely buy-outs
Support the supervising Project Engineer or Project Manager in managing the financial status of the project including preparation of project status and accuracy of financial reports.
Manage document control and design updates of the project to include posting and publishing of design updates, changes, revisions and notifications
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree in a Construction Management, Engineering or Technical related Degree: and/or a minimum of five (5) years of Project Supervision/Engineering experience in Commercial General Contracting or Construction Management
Proficient in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Software and other required administrative software for Project delivery
Minimum OSHA 10 Hour Training
Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills and Able to function successfully in a face paced, team atmosphere
Bachelor’s Degree plus a minimum of 5 years’ related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience i commercial construction.
Knowledge of building construction, means and methods, scheduling, general contract, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications.
Proven written and verbal communication abilities.
SeAbility to thoroughly read, understand and interpret contract documents, drawings, specifications, scopes of work and project schedules. Demonstrated leadership and interpersonal skills.
Essential Job Duties:
Overseeing and making decisions related to the performance of work related to scheduling, delivery, logistics, quality control and trade employee staffing levels.
Overseeing work among assigned trades to promote a coordinated project operation. Resolving local area problems regarding procedures, precedence, design clarifications, adequate labor and equipment, schedule and all other appropriate matters.
Managing the overall site safety program as required and ensuring subcontractor compliance with company standards and all applicable safety codes and regulations.
Supervising and developing Field Engineers and/or interns, as assigned, including providing input on or completing performance appraisals.
Creating schedules and determining the sequencing of work. Developing and implementing recovery strategies to maintain the project schedule.
Communicating with owners and architects/engineers in connection with field issues. Investigating and resolving such issues.
Participating in the subcontractor and Source Building Group billing process as it relates to work in place and overseeing the monthly estimate of work completed, payrolls, material invoices and subcontractor payment applications.
Managing the work to ensure that it is installed in compliance with and conforms to the approved contract documents.
Participate in pre-construction activities such as; Bidding and Estimating, Constructability Reviews and Promoting project opportunities to subcontractors
Project Engineer - $80K to $110K Salary Plus Benefits based on experience
Estimator - $70K- $95K Salary Plus Benefits based on experience
