Job Description Job Description Job Summary: The Construction Superintendent is responsible for the day-to-day management and operation of solar installation projects nationwide. Responsibilities also include scheduling projects, material shipment, surveys, and other types of daily scheduling. Supervises all solar installation activities and ensuring the safety and compliance of solar projects as assigned by the General Manager.
The incumbent in this position is expected to model the following practices on a daily basis: 1) Demonstrate alignment with the company's mission and core business values; 2) Collaborate with key internal/external resources; 3) Participate in ongoing self-development.
Essential Functions:
Develops, evaluates, and influences effective and consistent productivity and teamwork to ensure the delivery of Legendary Customer Service (LCS)
Performs daily Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) to ensure compliance with Issued for Construction drawings and ensuring any defects are corrected in a timely manner.
Manages construction to project schedule to ensure on-time delivery and completion
Ensures all regulations are met and required permits are acquired to include coordinating with Utilities and other Permitting agencies
Proactively identifies the elements of proposed project designs and construction requirements which could lead to disputes, claims, increased cost, or could adversely impact the image of the organization
Provides professional oversite in order to ensure the completion in a timely manner and within budget
Monitors, evaluates and reports ongoing status of construction projects operationally and financially
Communicates effectively with both internal departments and external subcontractors and suppliers when revisions and/or addendums are required
Evaluates and approves all payment applications and invoices related to construction capital projects, ensuring budget compliance
Manages the field operations management including the execution of subcontracts and component procedures
Selects vendor, contractor, and/or subcontractor that provides exemplary, professional service in the most cost efficient manner
Oversees the subcontractors assigned to specific tasks and provides feedback and direction as needed
Exercises professional judgement in selection of subcontractors to complete construction projects while managing the needs of the company and maintaining productive relationships
Maintains consistent and accurate records of activities throughout projects to include final reviews of projects post completion
Works safely at all times and adheres to all applicable safety policies; complies with all company policies, procedures, and standards
Requires regular and punctual employee attendance
Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge in solar and construction industry
Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, and the analysis and reporting of financial data
Computer and related software knowledge and/or experience and the ability to learn/use new computer programs to include MS Office products including MS Project
Excellent verbal, written, communication, and presentation skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills with both internal and external customers
Strong analytical, problem solving, and conceptual skills
Time management and organizational skills
Ability to handle a complex workload
Ability to identify complex problems and to review related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions

Education and Experience:
Minimum of three years’ experience in site construction management in commercial and utility-scale solar PV field including direct experience in managing projects in excess of 1Megawatt and all aspects of Solar Projects including Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical preferred
High school diploma or equivalent required, Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field, preferred
NABCEP Installer, NFPA 70e, and OSHA 30 Certification preferred
Supervisory Responsibilities:
None
Travel:
Up to 80% travel, to include overnight and up to one week durations

Occasionally moves materials or equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
Routinely reacts to visual, auditory, and other signals, including alarms and instructions, and is required to visually inspect work
Ascend/descend with gradual or continuous progress by oneself, using both hands and feet and climb up and down ladder
Work Environment:
This job is generally performed in a professional office environment, in environmentally controlled conditions and outdoor conditions on jobsite
Works outdoors and may be exposed to weather extremes conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity
Frequently works at a fast pace with unscheduled interruptions
