Electrical Engineer
Houston, TX
Electrical Engineer with experience in the design of Electrical components in the industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have a solid background and working knowledge in Electrical Engineering with experience using Revit and AutoCAD Design software.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Designs electrical systems by developing and testing components.
Evaluates electrical systems, products, components, and applications by designing and conducting research programs and applying knowledge of electricity and materials.
Confirms systems and components’ capabilities by designing testing methods.
Develops electrical products by studying customer requirements and researching and testing manufacturing and assembly methods and materials.
Assures product quality by designing electrical testing methods and testing finished products and system capabilities.
Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and maintains a database by writing a computer program and entering data.
Provides engineering information by answering questions/requests. Generate and/or respond to RFI’s for the project and accurately review submittals.
Completes projects by training and guiding technicians.
Provide necessary documents to Design Supervisors and Project Managers regarding contract changes, equipment buyouts, and change orders as requested.
Management of multiple concurrent project deadlines.
Perform studies to evaluate the cost-effectiveness of design alternatives and recommend alternatives for implementation.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS:
Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, 5+ years related experience in industrial design preferred and PE license (s).
Familiarity with electrical systems and equipment functionality for creating accurate electrical drawings.
Read, understand, and design plan layouts, single line diagrams, cable schedules, cable layouts, cable sizing, etc.
Knowledge of electrical design of medium and low voltage switchgear, motor control, control panels, transformers.
Understanding of electrical engineering safety standards, electrical codes such as ANSI, NEC, IEEE.
Plans and conducts independent evaluation, selection and adaptation of engineering techniques, procedures, and criteria.
Familiarity with E-houses, Remote Instrument Enclosures, and Data centers highly preferred.
