Supply Chain Manager

Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Manager develops and monitors the company’s supply chain strategy. This includes forecasting, planning, sourcing, manufacturing, and disposal. This position improves productivity, efficiency and reduce costs while securing raw materials, packaging, and supplies. The Supply Chain Manager identifies risks before they pose problems, actively brings solutions, develops options, always has a plan B, and avoids stock outs. Actively communicates, diligently follows up, and works with urgency to find solutions. They train and develop their team to support customer needs and company goals.
Essential Functions:
Provide accurate demand forecasts of all raw ingredient and finished goods items by using statistical forecasting coupled with customer forecasts
Able to effectively work cross departmentally with sales, finance, warehouse, customer service, and production to service our customers
Oversee purchasing coordinators.
Review and update supply chain practices in line with company policies, standards, laws, and regulations.
Plan, manage, and coordinate all activities related to the sourcing and procurement of necessary materials and supplies needed to meet the changing levels of product demand
Monitor and correct inventory levels at outside warehouses (3PL) and internally to ensure rotation and maximize working capital
Acts as part of the team coordinating changes, product line extension, or new product launches to ensure timely and orderly material and production flow transitions
Develop and maintain a quarterly sourcing strategy including safety stock levels, bulk purchasing, production planning, and build ahead plans
Negotiating terms, prices, and contacts with suppliers and addressing their performance and maintaining cost-effective practices
Analyzing the supply chain data and solving any issues or putting alternative plans in place
Identifying and minimizing risk by predicting the demand for products
Develop new and existing relationships with suppliers
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Bachelor’s Degree (BS or BA)
A Minimum of 5 years’ experience as Supply Chain Manager
Strong computer skills including MS Office products
Expert knowledge in ERP/MRP based systems (experience with Macola 10, a plus) Material Requirements Planning (MRP), Forecast, Master Schedule, and CRP
Vendor Quotes and Contracts, Purchasing
Inventory Management, Lot Traceability
Bill-of-Resource, Production Reporting
Solid interpersonal skills and the ability to lead, positively influence and train direct reports, peers, and others.
Excellent problem-solving skills
Attention to detail
A strategic and analytical mind
Working Conditions/Physical Factors:
Must be able to sit, stand and walk for prolonged periods of time
Worker may be exposed to hazards in the workplace such as proximity to equipment conducting extreme heat, moving parts, and electrical current
Must be able to work in environment containing allergens (nuts, milk, wheat, etc.)
Worker may be exposed to a loud working environment.
Occassionally required to lift / push / pull / carry weight up to 50 lbs.
Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.
Exposure to fumes or airborne particles.
