THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION
JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Research Technician 2 works on a RO1 grant in partnership with the NationalInstitute of Aging. The project is a multi-site, collaborative project designed to examine pain thresholds in individuals with stage 4 Cancer and Alzheimer's disease. This position will include activities related to database management, lab maintenance, specific research projects, and regulatory documentation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Recruit research participants via cold-calling, emails, presentations, etc.
Drives to homes and other data collection sites for in-person data collection.
Assists in gift card compensation, regulatory documentation, and other aspects of data collection, storage, and processing, per sponsor and site-specific protocols.
Assists in all phases of data collection, data management, and regulatory processes.
Assumes responsibility for documentation compilation and reporting of quality checks on data to the Principal Investigator.
Maintains regulatory documentation from all participating institutions.
Assists in tracking and organizing documents, supplies, materials, etc.
Performs other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
EDUCATION : Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology, Neuroscience, or a related field. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)
EXPERIENCE: OR a combination of college coursework and work experience to equal eight (8) years. (One (1) year of research experience preferred). A valid Driver’s License and personal vehicle are required. GCP and HIPAA certifications are required as soon as possible once employment begins.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
Ability to recruit a specialized group of individuals.
Skill in giving presentations, making cold calls, and meeting individuals in their homes.
Ability to interact with a diverse population.
