Our team considers the entire user journey, ensuring that the way we engage customers is aesthetically pleasing, useful, scalable, accessible, engaging, and on brand.

Your New Role...

Our Content Expression team is looking for a passionate staff product designer with strong visual and strategic design skills to join us as we shape the way millions of consumers enjoy the world's richest library of movies, series, and live experiences.

As the most senior individual contributor on the Content Expression team, you will be at the core of our work, shaping our engagement experiences within a vibrant and collaborative cross-functional environment. You will tackle challenging design problems, looking to reduce friction and shape positive interactions. Your ability to collaborate with fellow product designers, UX writers, UX researchers, product managers, engineers, and brand and marketing specialists will be crucial in defining the Max product experience.

Your Role Accountabilities...

You are a visual thinker and proficient designer with a strong strategic approach. As a role model for more junior designers, you can share your deep understanding of design best practices, heuristics, and accountability. You are an open and transparent partner to all. You are able to understand the larger view without losing sight of the smallest details. Inspired by data, user research, and market insights, you are passionate about keeping up with cutting-edge technology and innovative design practices.

Ability to lead as well as execute across all phases of a design project, from concept to implementation, including but not limited to wireframing, prototyping, and visual design.

As a strategic visual designer, you are skilled at creating engaging product experiences and unafraid to validate your hypotheses through research and testing.

You possess a willingness and desire to get feedback on your work from various partners, stakeholders, and customers.

User-centric design isn't just a practice for you; it's a cause you advocate for, relentlessly pursuing optimal experiences for our customers.

Navigate multiple projects at the same time, partnering with diverse teams to shape the visual narrative of Max.

Define and articulate the visual language that enhances the Max experience.

Craft and standardize editorial design solutions for a global audience, encapsulating design standards, documentation, and templates.

Foster a culture that’s as supportive as it is innovative, contributing significantly to the unforgettable experiences Max delivers.

Develop comprehensive documentation and tools to streamline design communication across our global design network.

Helping more junior designers evolve and grow through the lens of the projects you’re engaged in, while also looking to evolve and grow your own skills and knowledge.

Qualifications & Experience...

At least 8 years of professional experience as a product designer with an established design agency or product design organization.

A BA/BS degree in UX Design, Product Design, Industrial Design, graphic design or related disciplines is desired but not required.

A compelling portfolio that showcases your skills in visual design as well as your strategic approach to complex product challenges.

A passion for emergent technologies and their intersection with the evolution of design (e.g. the impact of AI on design, scalability, and communication)

Proven experience in developing and implementing design frameworks, playbooks, and standards.

Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.

Proficiency with industry-standard design software, including Figma and the Adobe Creative Suite.

Experience working with—or even developing—plug ins for Figma or various Adobe products.

A positive outlook, infinite curiosity, self-motivated spirit, and boundless energy.

A genuine enthusiasm for movies, series, sports, and news, as well as a desire to stay on top of industry trends.

How We Get Things Done…

This last bit is probably the most important! Here at WBD, our guiding principles are the core values by which we operate and are central to how we get things done. You can find them at www.wbd.com/guiding-principles/ along with some insights from the team on what they mean and how they show up in their day to day. We hope they resonate with you and look forward to discussing them during your interview.
