Production Accountant/Technician

POSITION OVERVIEW:
The Production Accountant/Technician is responsible for the volumetric accounting of oil and gas, working cross-functionally with our Production Operations, Marketing and HSE teams.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Maintains daily production database, input and track existing and new wells and locations, drilling and workover schedules
Input and verify production data from field into production accounting system, (PRAMS)
Assist production engineers in optimizing existing production through data analysis, coordinate with drilling and completion personnel to file reports
Data mine state database for well info for engineers
Work closely with field personnel to resolve questions and inaccuracies about the data
Perform daily and monthly data quality checks
Perform variance analysis for downtime, SCADA data, and production volumes
Validate and reconcile run ticket deliveries to discover missing/duplicate tickets, confirm proper allocation of crude barrels, and volume discrepancies
Review allocated oil and gas sales
Reconcile purchaser statements to payment details
Work with revenue to coordinate delivery of allocations in a timely manner
File State and Federal regulatory reports for production, as required
Troubleshoot allocation and reporting issues
Provide monthly reporting for JIB
Run ad-hoc reports for engineering, accounting, and regulatory groups
Provide response/resolution in a timely and thorough manner to all internal and external inquiries

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
Proficiency in the use and application of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word and Outlook), Spotfire, and the ability to learn new software or applications
High standards of accuracy and attention to detail
Proficiency to troubleshoot data variables
Highly-driven and self-motivated
Ability to work collaboratively across departmental functions
Experience with PRAMS is preferred but not required
EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Petroleum Engineering, or related field from an accredited four-year university required
2-5+ years’ experience in oil and gas production accounting preferred
