General Description / Primary Purpose
General Description / Primary Purpose: The University of North Florida, Department of Public Health is seeking an assistant professor for a 9-month tenure track position in the CACREP-accredited, master's program in Clinical Mental Health Counseling (CMHC) to start Fall 2024 or Spring 2024, with the possibility of teaching a Summer 2024 course as an adjunct. This is a full-time faculty position with 75% assigned time for teaching, 20% assigned time for scholarly activity, and 5% assigned time for service.
The CMHC program is a two-year, full-time, cohort model program that is designed to provide comprehensive training for individuals who wish to counsel diverse populations in a variety of mental health settings. It is a practitioner-scientist program consisting of 60 credit hours including 900 hours of clinical field experience. •Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision conferred no later than August 5, 2024
•Evidence of or potential for excellence in teaching
•Evidence of or potential for excellence in scholarship activities
•Evidence of commitment to diversity, advocacy, and outreach
•Evidence of or potential for meaningful service to the community and the university
Departmental Requirements
Preferred qualifications:
•Earned doctorate in Counselor Education and Supervision from a CACREP-accredited program
•Licensed or license-eligible as a mental health counselor in the state of Florida
•Experience in teaching counseling courses, mentoring students, and providing clinical supervision
•Interest in teaching Skills, Addictions, Career, Group, Assessment, Diagnosis, and Electives (e.g., psychopharmacology)
•Interest in and capacity for leadership within the CMHC program (e.g., program assessment)
