Job Overview: A law firm in Washington, DC, is seeking a Mid-Level Private Equity Finance Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate should possess at least 2 years of experience in private credit, acquisition finance, or leveraged finance, focusing on borrower-side representation. Preference will be given to candidates with experience working with private equity sponsors, although candidates with expertise in general company-side representation are also encouraged to apply.
Duties:
Provide legal counsel and support on private equity finance matters, including private credit, acquisition finance, and leveraged finance transactions.
Draft and negotiate transaction documents, including credit agreements, security documents, and inter-creditor agreements.
Conducted due diligence reviews and assisted in structuring financing transactions.
Collaborate with internal teams and external parties to ensure timely and accurate completion of transactions.
Research and analyze legal issues related to finance transactions and provide recommendations to clients.
Requirements:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC, or eligibility for admission by waiver.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in private credit, acquisition finance, or leveraged finance, preferably focusing on borrower-side representation.
Strong understanding of finance and corporate law principles.
Excellent communication, negotiation, and drafting skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize workload effectively.
Education:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.
Certifications:
Admission to the Bar in Washington, DC, or eligibility for admission by waiver.
