A Day in the Life of a Staff Accountant

You will be responsible for full cycle payroll, reconciliations in the ERP system with attention to every detail including multi state regulations. You will work closely with HR to keep ERP entries up to date. You'll keep us up to date with benefits and compliance as well as assist with audits and reporting. You assist with general ledger maintenance, reconciling and balancing payroll and oversee expense reporting. The department will look to you to suggest ways to streamline these processes. The team relies on your help to ensure the financial health of the company and you get to work on a team that is diverse, dynamic, supportive, and talented.

We are targeting a salary of $75,000 - $85,000 for this position.

Qualifications Of a Staff Accountant

A degree in accounting, or additional experience in lieu of a degree

5+ years of hands-on accounting experience

Proven experience as a Payroll Specialist and in-depth knowledge of payroll regulations, tax codes, and compliance requirements

Intermediate-Advanced Excel skills

Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles

Familiar with FAR related transactions

Experience with a large ERP accounting system, Deltek Vantagepoint preferred

Experience with larger payroll/HRIS software, Paylocity preferred

Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Experience in the Architecture/Engineering/Planning (AEP)(A+E) or job cost environment preferred

Knowledge of the project structure in a client/consultant business environment is a plus

Strong attention to detail

Work Schedule for a Staff Accountant

This full-time position typically works a schedule of 40 hours a week. This position will work a hybrid schedule of 3 days a week in the office with the flexibility to work from home 2 days a week. We provide employees with the flexibility and necessary equipment to work from home. The Seattle office of Toole Design is conveniently located in the heart of Seattle's Business District blocks from the Pike Place Market, Seattle Art Museum, Central Public Library, and Waterfront. The office is easily accessed on foot, by bicycle, and via transit or ferry. RapidRide lines C, D and E stop right in front, and multiple Sound Transit light rail and Sounder Commuter rail lines are a short walk to the office. Bike lanes are close by on 2nd and 4th avenues.
