Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager will play a key role in expanding Meier’s market presence and achieving revenue goals. This position is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, developing relationships with potential clients, and securing new projects. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in sales and business development, preferably in the construction industry with a deep understanding of the structural concrete market. This role is critical for driving the growth and success of the company, requiring a strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills. The Business Development Manager should be a proactive and dynamic professional, capable of identifying new opportunities and turning them into profitable projects.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Business Growth:

Develop and implement a comprehensive business development strategy to expand the company's market presence and client base.

Conduct market research to identify new business opportunities, emerging markets, and industry trends.

Client Acquisition and Relationship Management:

Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities with potential clients, including general contractors, developers, and architectural firms.

Develop and maintain strong, long-lasting client relationships, ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction.

Prepare and deliver presentations to potential clients, showcasing the company’s capabilities and value proposition.

Proposal Development and Negotiation:

Lead the preparation of bids and proposals, collaborating with the project management and operations teams to ensure accuracy and competitiveness.

Negotiate contract terms with clients and partners, ensuring favorable conditions for the company.

Sales Planning and Execution:

Set clear sales targets and KPIs and develop strategies to achieve these goals.

Monitor and report on sales performance, adjusting strategies as needed to meet or exceed targets.

Collaboration and Coordination:

Work closely with the project management team to ensure that client requirements are clearly understood and met.

Facilitate the smooth transition of new projects from the sales phase to the project management team.

Marketing and Branding:

Develop marketing materials, including brochures, case studies, social media and website content.

Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and networking events, enhancing brand visibility.

Qualifications & Skills:

Educational Background: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Construction Management, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in business development or sales, with a proven track record of generating new business, preferably in the construction industry or a related field.

Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of the construction industry, specifically related to structural concrete projects.

Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence clients and stakeholders.

Negotiation Skills: Proven negotiation skills, with the ability to close deals and secure favorable contract terms.

Analytical Skills: Ability to conduct market research, analyze data, and develop strategic plans based on findings.

Organizational Skills: Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of construction management software (e.g., Bluebeam, Procore) is a plus.
