CalWest's client school in Los Angeles, CA seeks an Educational Specialist (Resource Teacher) to begin in August of 2024.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in the subject area(s) to be taught or in a closely related area.
Compliance with the policies on tuberculosis, criminal record review, and employment eligibility verification.
CA Education Specialist Credential with an authorization in Mild to Moderate and/or Moderate to Severe and English Language Learner authorization
Outstanding written, speaking, and organizational skills with experience interacting with a broad range of stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for students with disabilities, based on assessments and evaluations of their strengths and needs.
Collaborate with other teachers, support staff, and parents to create a positive and inclusive learning environment for all students.
Adapt curriculum and instructional strategies to meet each student's unique needs, including modifying materials, providing accommodations, and using assistive technology.
Monitor student progress and adjust instructional strategies as needed to ensure that all students are making progress toward their goals.
Provide ongoing feedback to students, parents, and other educators on student progress and needs.
Ensure compliance with special education laws and regulations, including maintaining accurate records and documentation.
Attend and participate in IEP meetings, parent-teacher conferences, and other school related meetings as needed.
Continuously improve professional knowledge and skills through ongoing professional development and training opportunities
