Linux Systems Engineer III
Location: 14810 Grasslands Dr Englewood CO – hybrid model with two days remote.
Contract Duration: 6-month contract with possibility for conversion or extension.
** Prefer local and not open to C2C at this time
Overview: The Network Services and Service Activation team at Charter is looking to bring on three Linux Systems Engineers to support testing, troubleshooting and deployment of new features within their lab environment.
Skill Set
3-10+ years of experience with Linux administration
Basic knowledge of networking. The candidate should be conversant with IPv4, IPv6, DNS, DHCP, HTTP/HTTPS, TFTP, SCP and have a basic understanding of firewalls and load balancers
Experience with VMWare
Experience using monitoring and logging tools like Splunk and Datadog
Scripting capabilities with any of the following: Python, Bash, Shell, SQL
Nice to have:
Docker, Kubernetes, AWS
Responsibilities
Provide support for incoming tickets to identify issues associated with network and service provisioning layer in the lab
Follows up on all the tickets in timely manner and pursues issues through to resolution.
Responsible for code deployments and release installs for various applications in the lab environment.
Responsible for troubleshooting network provisioning of various CPE devices
Work closely with the development and architecture teams to understand the requirements around testing new features and releases.
Responsible for testing software releases for network provisioning and service activation application
Responsible for creation and execution of test plans and reporting bugs on issues found during testing.
Analyze test data, document results, and clearly communicate results and conclusions to project stakeholders.
Responsible for creating and managing documentation for support and testing related activities for provisioning applications.
