Position Summary
The Assistant Project Manager, under limited supervision, manages smaller projects through all aspects including, estimating, coordination of cost control, scheduling, reporting and document control activities. Assist in supporting positive client relations. Position may be in the office of field and travel may be required.
Responsibilities
Supports day to day activities for a project
Participate within the estimating efforts for a potential project. Administer
and execute gradebeam set up. Attends walk through as B&A representative
Contract awards and scope reviews. Collaborates with SPM, PX’s for major awards
Responsible for and collaborating with PE in regards to RFI’s and submittal processes
Administer the change management process in collaboration with PM or SPM
Running subcontractor pre-construction meetings
Running or participates in OAC meetings and provides meeting minutes
Support and implement overall project schedule and responsible to manage throughout project
Report to PM and SPM regarding major issues relating to schedule, changes, field quality control
Establish process for subcontractor communication
Support all project start up processes
Set up process for CMIC
Work hand in hand with project superintendent for all field related issues
Manage payment application process and pencil draw review meetings with client.
Oversee document management and control.
Ensure all updated documents are distributed to project team
Work hand in hand with SPM and PM to learn the permitting process
Work hand in hand to learn proper communication with Subcontractors, Architects, Owners
Work hand in hand with project superintendent for all field related issues
Participate in BIM process when applicable
Oversee the close out documents process (O&M Manuals)
Manage and ensure all punch list is properly completed
Continuing education – Become LEED certified
Oversee or Prepare all documentation as required for LEED certified projects
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Science, Engineering and a minimum of 4 years of experience or equivalent. Strong problem-solving and communication skills. Must be adaptable, high initiative and results oriented. Certification preferred.
