Cadence Design Systems is looking for a Deal Desk Finance Manager to be a key business partner and advisor to the North America sales organization in contract structuring to maximize the value to Cadence across the organization’s entire portfolio of offerings. The position advises East Coast Geography Sales Team on best practices, collaborating with Account Executives and Sales Management throughout the sales process to enable optimal outcome. This role works closely with quote to cash groups including Sales, Revenue Accounting, OM, Credit and Legal. You will join a cohesive team whose environment thrives on collaboration across geographies and departments within the broader quote to cash team of this publicly traded software company with $3.5B+ in annual revenue. You will act as a trusted sales guide for deal structures and terms that mutually benefit both our external customers and internal cross-functional teams. Critical thinking and working proactively to identify improved processes and approaches are instrumental in this role.
Must Haves
Bookings/Revenue / Forecasting and Reporting experience
Strong Excel, MS Office, reporting and presentation proficient
Ownership of contract flow from negotiation stage through to processing by order management
Attention to detail and high business acumen are required to be successful in the position
Strong problem-solving skills along with the ability to communicate rationale for decisions across all levels of the organization
Able to thrive within a high growth, dynamic environment
Job Requirements
Finance partner to WFO; working with the East Coast Geography sales team to structure and execute business with our customers while achieving the Company’s financial targets, with a strong focus on deal quality and compliance with the Company’s policies and procedures.
Understanding legal terms and conditions associated with all portfolio offerings.
Support Sales in contract negotiation including but not limited to drafting legal terms and conditions unique to the negotiation.
Become an expert on our quoting tools to provide guidance to Sales in the quoting process, reviewing and enforcing revenue recognition compliance for all quoting deal types.
Work with cross-functional stakeholders for decision support on deal solutions.
Ability to successfully influence business partners, even when holding a contrary position.
Communications with Business Unit(s) owner on discounts and pricing.
Knowledge of software and hardware revenue recognition rules and other accounting standards and the implications for contract structure.
Resolution of internal and external customer issues.
Desired Qualifications & Experience
12 Years in Finance Department/Accounting/Auditing or related discipline
Education: Finance or Accounting related degree preferred
Capable of influencing Sales teams and building strong collaborative relationships with sales & technical personnel at all levels
Strong interpersonal, verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated and innovative, with the ability to lead internal stakeholders by influence if needed.
Ability to listen to the needs of sales, problem-solve to find quality solutions, and escalate as needed
Knowledge of software and hardware accounting rules
Understanding of ASC606 software revenue recognition is a plus+
Prior experience with Salesforce, CPQ tools knowledge is a plus

Understanding the various business models available and advising the most appropriate structure for customer and Cadence success. Provide leadership with financial models and evaluation of deal economics, commercial terms and conditions and operational requirements to present risk/reward profile for proposal opportunities.
The annual salary range for California is $117,600 to $218,400. You may also be eligible to receive incentive compensation: bonus, equity, and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the salary range is a guideline and compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location.
