Job Description Job Description The Technology Trainer’s tasks will differ slightly project to project but the objective remains the same in providing subject matter expertise to the specified training program to ensure that employee learning outcomes are achieved.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Conducts new hire and follow-up training on the MS Office suite and the firm’s document management, timekeeping, and CRM systems via one-on-one coaching, virtual instruction, and classroom.
Retrains current personnel as new policies and procedures are developed.
Uses in-depth professional knowledge and insight to develop software training and materials from standard to highly customized implementations. Develops and maintains courseware outlines, demo documents, PowerPoints, and/or training manual material of firm supported software (existing and new). Tracks training schedules.
Develops procedures, specifications, and firm standards optimizing the use of existing and future firm related software.
Creates and maintains training events and on-demand resources. Teaches using a variety of methods designed to help employees develop their knowledge and skills in order to achieve performance objectives. Maintains training related equipment to ensure proper configuration and functionality.
Provides troubleshooting, best practices, and training support to the Help Desk, other IT personnel, and Word Processors to facilitate Help Desk support. Provides support from the Help Desk as needed.
Collaborates with management team to identify firm-wide and department training needs. Proposes suggestions for training topics based on analysis of tickets, user group feedback, and one-on-one user conversations.
Analyzes and tests new software applications as needed or requested.
Acts as a liaison between software vendor sales and technical support staff regarding application issues.
Performs other duties as requested.
QUALIFICATIONS: J.D. is required, plus three or more years of relevant experience in a professional services environment, along with knowledge of terminology and procedures applicable to specific practice areas of legal personnel (i.e., while working with attorneys in the Litigation Practice Group will need to be able to demonstrate an understanding of the litigation case lifecycle).
Expert proficiency in word processing techniques, technology in an electronic network systems environment, MS Office Suite, and PDF software (ability to manipulate and edit PDFs using Acrobat, Nuance, etc.) is required.
Experience drafting training modules and testing.
Possesses high energy level and ability to engage employees.
Possesses strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrates good organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and provide superior internal client service in a team focused environment.
Must be reliable, a self-starter, and possess the ability to work independently and effectively under time constraints and pre-set deadlines in an accurate manner with consistent high production; requires minimal supervision; may work outside of normal business hours.
