Supply Chain Leadership Development Program
This role will exist within the Supply Chain Graduate Development Program and is intended to attract top performing college students who are studying Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, or similar fields. The role is meant to provide process improvement projects, focusing on ways to propel Smith+Nephew forward, while also advancing the participants' career! The program will include rotations through the various supply chain fields as well as professional development opportunities over a 2 - 2.5-year period. The Graduate works primarily with peers in the functional area that is the focus of their current rotation. Their role could be global, regional, or local in nature but will primarily be focused on global supply chain processes. The Graduate could work with teams with multifaceted strengths across divisions, functions, cultures and reporting levels to accomplish their assignments. Key challenges include learning the Smith + Nephew supply chain business processes and supporting systems as well as the various improvement objectives contained in the Global Supply Chain strategy. The Graduate will also need to be flexible and receptive to change as each rotation will be intended to develop new skills and abilities that may not have been previously introduced.
Responsibilities and Program Components:
The rotational assignments will provide time to develop knowledge in each area. Rotation areas will include assignments in Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Inventory Management & Analytics, Procurement, Distribution, and Manufacturing.
The Graduate will participate in a variety of professional development opportunities during rotation assignments aimed at familiarizing the new graduate with Smith+Nephew and the medical device industry.
The Graduate will partner with a peer adviser who will provide support in various aspects of working at Smith+Nephew and participating in the Program.
She/he will be assigned a mentor who will support and coach the graduate in goal setting and ensure s/he is successfully progressing through the rotational program.
The Graduate will create presentations, perform analytics, or other tasks that can be presented to director level managers.
The Graduate will develop a basic understanding of relevant compliance, GxP and Quality Systems standards and specifically FDA Quality System Regulations.
What will you need to be successful?
Previous applicable internship, co-op, part-time or apprenticeship experience is helpful. Some knowledge of medical devices and manufacturing standards, processes are a plus
Demonstrated leadership experience preferred; a proven and effective project leader preferred.
Strong communication skills including writing, listening, and speaking with the ability to influence others. Must be able to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and drive project completion
High learning agility with the ability to analyze and synthesize data and then present it to senior leaders; Ability to assess technical issues and develop solutions utilizing an analytical approach to problem solving
Independent thinking and the ability to work within a team is required
Ability to handle tight deadlines, multiple tasks, assignment changes, cutting edge technology, and multifaceted business growth; time management and organization skills are a must
Strong Microsoft Office skills require

Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering or related major
Must be in excellent academic standing
