The Manager leads a team of legal solution developers to develop, integrate and leverage a variety of low-code/no-code technologies to improve legal processes and client relationships. This includes online collaboration, case management, business intelligence, and legal process workflow.
The Manager will also have project management responsibilities working directly with attorneys and clients supporting technology services for clients using Ballard360 Technology. With the direction from the Director and Chief Information Officer, the Manager will need a strong understanding of the firm, departmental, and practice area strategic goals, and implement strategies and tactics to develop and expand existing relationships and increase new business.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Work with other IT teams to support firm, department, and practice group goals and objectives.
Acts as a client and attorney advocate and voice for easy-to-use technology solutions and process innovation.
Build, support, and report on custom legal practice technology solutions.
Develop reusable routines, methodologies, and documentation for extracting and analyzing data for clients and legal teams in a manner they can understand and use.
Work with Practice Group and Department leaders to introduce technology and potential use cases as well as provide Director of Technology Innovation with constant updates on projects.
Identify innovative ways to deliver value to clients through the creation of technologies and processes.
Assist in helping legal staff, clients, and the development team to identify, troubleshoot, and solve issues with our existing technological solutions.
The ideal candidate will be a proactive self-starter and a collaborative team player with excellent service orientation, work ethic and project management skills. Good communication skills verbally and in writing and possess the ability to synthesize and communicate complex subjects clearly and concisely. The incumbent will use sound judgment and analytical skills to identify solutions to challenges as they arrive and have the ability to learn new technologies.
A four-year college degree and three years' related experience is required. A JD a plus. Previous experience working in a law firm or legal environment or familiarity interacting with attorneys and understanding their priorities is paramount. Previous experience managing a group of technologists is preferred.
Development experience with Microsoft applications such as SharePoint, Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps and Dataverse or comparable low-code applications. Knowledge of agile project management and process improvement strategies. Process improvement certifications a plus. Experience with data visualization, document automation, or other low-code application development programs a plus.
Ability to draft DAX functions. Strong debugging skills and ability to troubleshoot applications written by other developers and analysts. Candidates should be familiar with programming syntax for simple troubleshooting.
