The Need For 25 years, IJM has pioneered the work to protect vulnerable people from violence. 9 out of 9 times in the last decade, IJM’s Justice System Strengthening Projects have reduced slavery and violence between 50 and 85% for very large populations of people in poverty. As we grow to expand our impact to protect 500 million people from violence by 2030, we are seeking a Lead, Measurement Operations who will be responsible for providing management and business process solutions to the Global Measurement Team (GMT) portfolio of research studies, data initiatives, communities of practice, and technical services.
This position is hybrid (onsite Tuesdays & Thursdays) if located in the Washington, DC area or remote for non-local candidates, and it reports to the Global Vice President, Measurement. Eligible candidates must have the right to work within the country in which they reside and where IJM maintains a presence.
Responsibilities: Seek and share learning that improves any current process, project, way of working, or other established practice.
Develop project management processes for Global Measurement Team work.
Develop and manage processes to secure, share, and use feedback on Global Measurement Team work.
Develop and manage an overall Global Measurement Team communications plan.
Create, manage, and monitor specific communication methods and tools.
Communicate directly with stakeholders on behalf of the Global Measurement Team.
Develop and execute training content on assigned Global Measurement Team work.
Develop and manage ways to track value of Global Measurement Team training initiatives.
Serve as project manager for Global Measurement Team initiatives, as assigned by the Global Vice President, Measurement.
Develop, manage, and execute project management work—especially risk management, communications management, schedule management, stakeholder management, and reporting—in ways that avoid churn and minimize burden.
Maintain accurate and accessible documentation of Global Measurement Team projects and other work.
Prepare content for and lead internal reporting requirements.
Schedule specific project meetings, as directed by the Global Vice President, Measurement.
Ensure translation services for and recordings of meetings.
Participate in IJM’s community of spiritual formation.
Qualifications: Education & Experience
Minimum 3 years of portfolio management experience, including scope, schedule, and budget of constituent projects and initiatives.
Minimum 3 years of communications management experience, including multiple channels and audiences (both technical and non-technical).
Experience working successfully across teams, especially in a matrix-like structure.
Experience working with multiple team members at once and ability to set priorities and handle multiple, competing time and resource demands.
Graduate degree in any field.
Either a globally-accepted project management certification (e.g., PMP or Prince 2) or experience that demonstrates competence in core project management competencies.
Technical Competencies
Knowledge of common project management tools and techniques—with an ability to contextualize where needed.
Comfortability with Microsoft Office applications and common project management applications—sufficient to create process flows, dashboards, standardized reports, and other compelling products.
Strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task, problem solve and pay attention to detail.
