Plant Construction Director

Position Summary & Duties: The Plant Construction Director is a direct-hire position working for a specialty environmental client. This position offers very competitive benefits including performance based bonus.
The Plant Construction Director will oversee field plant construction operations, collaborating with executives, engineers, consultants, and contractors.
In the Plant Construction Director role, you will:
•Coordinate all aspects of field operations, including workload distribution, scheduling, labor management, and procurement of materials within our environmental hazardous waste recycling and management facilities across the US and Canada.
•Meet with engineers and contractors at various project phases, from proposals to closeouts.
•Travel up to 50% of the time to job sites for status checks, with a preference for temporary relocations to major projects for hands-on project management.
•Create, implement, and enforce safety and compliance procedures onsite.
•Analyze current plant processes to identify opportunities for equipment optimization and operational efficiency improvements in new plant planning.
•Assist in the hiring process, leveraging your extensive experience in general contracting or industrial chemical and refining plant operations.
•Ability to negotiate contracts with various trade disciplines.
Qualifications:
Plant Construction Director requirements:
•15+ years of relevant experience with a general contractor, or Industrial, Chemical, or Refining plant operation experience.
•Prior experience with large "ground up" industrial construction is required.
•Degree in engineering or construction management is preferred.
•Must currently hold a Director or Equivalent position to be considered.
•Candidates must be willing to temporarily relocate to major project sites for hands on management of the construction project.
•Strong understanding of skilled trades, construction technology, and building code details.
•Proficiency in reviewing and understanding construction documents; AutoCAD experience desired.
•Excellent communication skills, and proficiency in construction scheduling software (MS Projects or Primavera P-6).
•Ideal candidates will be located in Norwell MA, Houston TX or Kimball NE. However, exceptionally strong candidates can be located throughout the U.S.
