Summary
The IT Support Specialist role is to support and maintain organizational computer systems, desktops, and peripherals. That includes installing, diagnosing, repairing, maintaining, and upgrading all organizational hardware and equipment while ensuring optimal workstation performance. The person will also troubleshoot problem areas (in person, by telephone, or via work order) in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user assistance where required.
Responsibilities
Acts as the initial point of contact for all computer and system-related concerns from employees.
Diagnoses problems to resolve calls on various supported computer hardware, software, and operating systems.
Installs, configures, tests, maintains, monitors, and troubleshoots end user and network hardware, peripheral devices, printing/scanning devices, presentation equipment, software, and other products in order to deliver required desktop service levels.
Collaborates with Director of Technology to ensure efficient operation of the organization's desktop computing environment.
Supports development and implementation of new computer projects and new hardware installations.
Administers and resolves issues with end-user workstation network software products.
Receives and responds to incoming calls, pages, and/or work orders regarding desktop problems.
Ensures that desktop connections, i.e., network jacks, are in proper working order.
If necessary, liaise with third-party support and PC equipment vendors.
Performs related duties consistent with the scope and intent of the position.
Education & Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent
2+ years work experience in related field
Excellent knowledge of PC and desktop hardware
Excellent knowledge of PC internal components
Hands-on hardware troubleshooting experience
Extensive equipment support experience
Working technical knowledge of current protocols, operating systems, and standards
Ability to operate tools, components, and peripheral accessories.
Able to read and understand technical manuals, procedural documentation, and OEM guides
Minimum Qualifications
Must be able to obtain a state medical marijuana badge and pass a background check.
Reliable transportation and a valid driver’s license are required.
Must be able to communicate with GDF Team effectively and professionally.
Must perform under high pressure situations.

Physical Requirements: Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Dexterity of hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, power tools, and other computer components. The ability to respond quickly to sounds. The ability to move safely over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. The ability to see and respond to dangerous situations. The ability to wear personal protective gear correctly most of the day. The ability to sit or stand for up to 12 hours at a time. The ability to work in bright/hot/humid conditions. The ability to work in low light situations. Lifting, standing, sitting, walking, bending, reaching, push/pull, repetitive use of hands, grasping use of hands, visual activity. Exposure to limited hazardous chemicals.
