Bruegmann-USA is recruiting a Health & Safety Manager. In this role, you will establish and maintain a culture of safety excellence and safeguard compliance with all relevant regulations and standards. You will focus on designing and implementing effective safety programs and protocols and ensuring the availability and usability of safety equipment. You will promptly respond to employee safety concerns, provide guidance and support in resolving issues and improve overall safety performance.

Responsibilities:

Creates & assesses new developments in the health and safety field that may have relevance to the company's operations and make recommendations to the Operations Manager.

Works with Operations Manager to develop, implement & execute safety procedures and safety training that influence the company's business by increased workforce or location.

Evaluates hazardous conditions and practices and develops hazard control practices, job safety analysis, and safety training for company employees as required by federal, state and city safety laws likely to affect the company.

Complies with OSHA regulations and standards, including OSHA compliance, inspections, and citations.

Conducts regular on-site inspections in the warehouse, production facility and offices.

Observes workplace conditions and makes necessary recommendations for corrective procedures regarding health and safety.

Conduct comprehensive safety assessments (i.e., fall protection, scaffolds, excavation, confined space, equipment operations, electrical, property damage and personal injury investigations)

Enforces safety policies and procedures along with composing required corrective action when necessary.

Investigate all injury, property damage incidents, and accidents.

Ensure work equipment is in good working condition.

Compiles and keeps all required work site safety records, safety manuals, SDS and accident forms that are required by contract, insurance companies and relevant governing agencies.

Works with the Operations Manager to protect company interests as it relates to environmental health, workplace safety and risk management.

Revises, updates, and supports the Operations Manager to establish critical safety issues and proposes continued training of employees in safe and efficient work methods.

Analyzes, reviews, and investigates accidents, or serious injuries occurring and notifies the Operation Manager & HR of pertinent details of cause and coordinates with HR to report to worker’s compensation along with other safety issues.

Oversees and works with Operations Manager & Human Resources to execute safety meetings.

Conduct daily safety inspections with the emphasis on continued improvement and best practices.

Submits daily, weekly, and monthly reports.

Provide additional training on the site as needed.

Performs all other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from four-year College or University required.

Degree in Occupational Safety preferred.

3-5 years safety experience and/or training in an industrial/distribution environment.

Knowledge of OSHA regulations, hazard identification and corrections, environmental regulations, workers compensation and human behavior and physical attributes related to job capabilities.

Computer skills – Ability to conduct analysis via computer applications.

Good verbal and written skills to communicate effectively.

Licenses/Certifications:

OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification

CPR / 1st Aid Certification

Work Location:

Onsite

Must be able to work out of two Houston locations (Garden Oaks & Rankin)
