Position: Senior Project Manager – Aviation Infrastructure
Location: Sacramento, CA
Type: Full Time
Salary: $120,000 - $140,000 / PA
Overview:
The Senior Project Manager to lead initiatives in the field of aviation infrastructure, focusing on general aviation and non-hub commercial service airports. The successful candidate will oversee a variety of projects, including federally and state-funded airport improvement programs, as well as locally funded endeavours at both public and private-use airports.
Key Responsibilities:
Project Leadership:
Direct and manage FAA and State DOT aviation projects within an assigned client base.
Oversee the entire life cycle of projects, from capital improvement planning to grant facilitation, land acquisition, design, bidding, construction, and project close-out, ensuring timely and budget-compliant delivery.
Compliance and Regulations:
Ensure compliance with objectives outlined in statewide aviation systems plans, individual airport master plans, safety regulations, environmental laws, federal land acquisition policies, federal grant assurance requirements, and all relevant federal and state design standards, including airspace considerations.
Technical Expertise:
Apply in-depth knowledge and proficiency in FAA Advisory Circulars for airport design and construction, covering runways, taxiways, aircraft parking aprons, grading/drainage, and pavement markings.
Contract Development:
Develop contract specifications and bid estimates, ensuring accuracy and alignment with project objectives.
Coordination and Communication:
Coordinate with engineering design staff and other disciplines to meet project objectives effectively.
Maintain open communication with stakeholders, providing regular updates on project progress.
Administrative Accuracy:
Ensure accurate daily timekeeping to track project-related activities and resource allocation.
Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or equivalent.
Experience : Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in civil engineering, with at least 8 years of dedicated Aviation Project Management experience.
Professional Certification: Must hold a valid Professional Engineer (P.E.) license.
Skills:
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
Proficiency in the use of general office equipment.
Proficient in MS Office; experience with AutoCAD is a plus.
