**Description**
The Retail District Manager is responsible for leading and inspiring an average of approximately 10-15 retail store teams. The role will drive the team to provide an exceptional customer experience, analyze individual and team performance against business goals, and implement business improvement strategies to meet retail store financial objectives. The Retail District Manager will effectively manage multiple businesses, be able to plan, coordinate, and evaluate sales, merchandising, and marketing opportunities. Priorities will include opening new stores, closing non-performing stores, hiring, training, and developing Retail Store Managers including succession discussions. The RDM will operate with a high level of emotional intelligence, demonstrate they can build productive relationships across corporate functions, and contribute to the continued loyalty and growth of our brand within retail stores.
**RESPONSIBILITIES:**
* Responsible for achievement of goals/objectives in Sales, Controllable Profit, EBITDA, Payroll Management, P&L Performance, Customer Acquisition/Loyalty, Ship from Stores, and Omni-Channel Initiatives.
* Responsible for leading all-district company initiatives by clearly communicating objectives and priorities to the team, working through direct reports to drive results.
* Establish multi-store sales goals and oversee plans, budgets, and variable costs for each store; works with comparable sales to last year, sales-to-budget, and future trends to maximize profitability.
* Provide leadership and development to Retail Store Managers in areas such as merchandise processing, replenishment and recovery of the sales floor, inventory allocation and product levels according to 5.11 merchandising standards.
* Responsible for recruiting and developing diverse talent for the district and encouraging consistent success and career development through a formal succession planning strategy and monthly one-on-one coaching sessions.
* Teach and coach on the sales floor by modeling selling behaviors, inspiring continuous learning on new products and for high customer engagement.
* Consistently provide feedback to retail store team members including constructive, real-time critique as well as celebrating wins/successes.
* Manage reporting of sales figures, perform cash operational functions such as cash management, bank deposits and cash handling procedures and daily cash reconciliation for all stores.
* Manage district labor and payroll and incentive programs, multi-store controllable budget and expenses.
* Participate in, and oversee, store events to ensure they are within budget, meet the event criteria, and work with the Marketing, Merchandising and Sales Teams in the execution of the event.
* Provide merchandise feedback that can be actioned upon to build sales and profitability across the district.
* Complete designated operational audits. Implement and ensure safety and security routines are followed in every store, to prevent loss, track against sales & inventory, and guarantee employee and customer safety.
* In partnership with Human Resources Team ensure compliance across the employee lifecycle.
* Work with peers within a continuous improvement context to continually redefine our standards of excellence to help evolve our overall retail experience.
**QUALIFICATIONS****:**
* Minimum 3+ years of retail multi-unit management experience preferred
* Minimum 5+ years of leadership experience with comparable volume or proven track record of success managing a selling workforce and achieving results preferred
* Bachelors Degree preferred
* Ability to lead, train, and build an effective team.
* Availability to work a retail schedule that includes evenings, weekends, and holidays, as well as travel up to 60% with occasional overnight trips.
* Possess strong service-focused business acumen.
* Goal-oriented focus, with demonstrated ability to identify, develop, manage, and motivate a leadership team while driving company initiatives
* Proven experience with networking to build a retail business
* Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite Outlook, TEAMS, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
* Retail POS system knowledge and experience preferred
**Travel Required**
