TerraPower's mission is to be a world leader in new nuclear technologies, while developing innovators and future leaders in the nuclear field. As a result, the company's activities in the fields of nuclear energy and related sciences are yielding significant innovations in the safety and economics of nuclear power, hybrid energy and medical applications - all for significant human health benefits.

Product Manager, Configuration Management Information System

We're looking for a highly motivated Product Manager to coordinate the ongoing development, enhancement, maintenance, and support of our internal nuclear reactor data and configuration management information system (CMIS), called Atom. This tool is a key part of our plan to improve the world's ability to deliver data-heavy nuclear power construction projects on time and budget. It manages a project-specific data model linking the plant safety functions, plant requirements, plant design definition, scientific analyses, documentation, tests, open items, glossary terms, formal decisions, and more. It acts as an integrated access point across the project to help coordinate, organize, and manage design and construction efforts. It facilitates workflows that implement project procedures, assisting users in efficiently achieving procedure compliance.

This role will really become the focal point of what the Atom system is and becomes. We are seeking people highly interested in advancing the state of the art in nuclear configuration management.

This role work with the internal user base of managers, engineers, and support staff to collect and manage development priorities, and work with the software developer team to triage and manage specific tasks implementing those priorities. The role will require constant interaction with the stakeholders of a nuclear design project. The product is also governed by strict NQA-1 quality assurance requirements and change management processes. Thus, we are looking for people experienced in the details of megaprojects (ideally nuclear) and also excited about how custom software systems can bring new levels of productivity to the related challenges. TerraPower is an equal opportunity employer.

Collect status from the developer team and report it to the stakeholders as appropriate,

Define and track metrics defining progress of the system's development vs. project needs,

Manage corrective actions related to the CMIS,

Define when new releases are needed and what developments should be included,

Ensure compliance with quality standards and regulatory requirements for software.

Key Qualifications and Skills:

Drive to help solve nuclear project delivery challenges with custom software,

Knowledge of megaproject design process, preferably in the nuclear industry,

Deep understanding of nuclear configuration management, e.g. by working with the Configuration Management Benchmark Group (CMBG),

5+ years of relevant experience in software product management or related,
