Catalyst Construction Group has an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Estimator to join our team!
Catalyst is looking for an experienced Senior Estimator who will be responsible for overseeing the estimating process on specified bids pertaining to mid- and high-rise projects. This role will lead, support, and mentor members of the estimating team, as well as implement pricing strategies to validate construction costs and facilitate executive decisions on new projects and/or capital improvements on existing projects. An ideal candidate will have experience estimating concrete construction projects.

Responsibilities
Be a key member, leader, and contributor to the Catalyst Construction Group Pre-Construction Team
Responsible for providing key support and guidance during the project initiation phase to validate construction costs and scheduling during acquisition and development pursuits
Develop in-house cost estimates and pre-construction schedules for new ground-up, renovation, and capital improvement projects
Initiate and review schedule of values and clarifications/assumptions via Catalyst Construction Group’s Request for Proposal process and deliver synopsis of findings and recommendations to the Pre-Construction Team
Develop Value Engineering ideas and provide pricing input during pre-construction, as well as construction phase
Oversee and monitor labor and material cost inflation risk and advise as to timing or bidding strategies
Initiate key bid scoping sessions as needed with subcontractors to ensure that project buyouts are efficient and cost effective
Provide guidance to the Construction Management Team periodically during the construction phase (pay app reviews, change order reviews, etc.)
Oversee the management and formation of Catalyst Construction Group Documents, Vendor Databases, and historical cost estimating tools
Provide education to team members regarding new concepts in construction – such as modular construction – and new materials that provide value to future projects
Qualifications and Skills
8-10 years of experience in cost/schedule estimating and bidding of student housing, multi-family residential, and/or senior living projects
Concrete construction estimating and/or hands-on experience
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and in utilizing cost estimating software such as DESTINI Estimator or equivalent
Proven efficiency in quantity take-offs using a PDF scaling program, OST or similar software
Effective multitasking abilities
Attention to detail and strong organization and verbal/written communication skills
Experience with negotiating cost with contractors, vendors, and designers
