Solers Research Group seeks a self-motivated, driven, highly organized part-time Database Architect. This position will support a team of Instructional System Designers (ISD), graphic artists, and courseware developers in developing U. S. Navy electronic courseware and operation on a Moodle Learning Management System (LMS). Tasking will include installing and setting up MySQL and Moodle LMS on new servers. The Database Architect will be expected to write, review, and maintain technical documentation such as user manuals, product specifications, and training materials. Performance of other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
For employment, candidates must be U.S. citizens based in the Jacksonville, Florida area, and will be subject to a comprehensive background check.
Requirements
Skills and Experience with the following is required:
Expertise in MySQL, SQL, IIS, and Oracle
Knowledge of Microsoft Server 2016 Standard and above
In-depth understanding of database structure principles
Experience gathering and analyzing system requirements
Proficiency in MS Excel
Proficiency in Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGS)
Proven analytical skills
Problem-solving attitude
Complete complex assignments with minimal to no supervision
Programming and scripting (JavaScript, HTML5, My SQL, PostgreSQL, CSS, PHP, and SQL Server)
Install and configure information systems to ensure functionality
Identify installation solutions for new databases
Analyze structural requirements for new software and applications
Optimize new and current database systems
Define security and backup procedures
Organizational skills to work with schedule deadlines, track progress, and report on status
At least 2 years of experience with MySQL or SQL. At least 2 years of experience in information technology.
Experience with Moodle LMS is a plus.
