About the Role
Global movement organizing people of faith and moral courage to create societies free of economic oppression, racism, and discrimination. Our mission is to support grassroots faith-based community organizing in 22 U.S. states and multiple countries across Africa, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Eastern Europe. For fifty years, we have built strong, multi-racial, multi-faith organizations advocating for social change. Our network spans 200 cities, including state and local member-federations in the U.S. and countries like El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Haiti, Rwanda, Ghana, Tanzania, Kenya, Namibia, Hungary, and Slovakia. We focus on issues such as voting rights, immigrant justice, economic and criminal justice, and climate equity, both nationally and globally.
The Opportunity:
Organization seeks an Executive Director to lead the organization in achieving greater strategic influence and impact. The ideal candidate will foster a powerful global multi-faith community organizing culture, working with a growing U.S. and global network of multi-faith social justice organizations.
Responsibilities:
Galvanize the team and align infrastructure to achieve the organization’s vision.
Provide inspirational leadership, maintaining a participatory, inclusive, and collaborative culture.
Build and maintain authentic relationships with senior leadership of all Federations.
Provide supportive leadership for diverse team members at the national and Federation levels.
Build the Network, connecting domestic and international federations.
Lead fundraising and friend-raising strategies, building fundraising capacity across the Network.
Co-construct collaborative organizing campaigns for global impact.
Grow the network in new cities, states, and countries.
Serve as the external ambassador and lead spokesperson.
Provide strong partnership and collaboration to the Board of Directors.
Candidate Profile:
The ideal candidate will be a collaborative and thoughtful leader with deep experience and understanding of community organizing and grassroots leadership development. They should have a commitment to racial equity, a movement-building sensibility, and the ability to work through and add value to a network of U.S. and international organizations.
Qualifications:
Passion for and alignment with our values and mission.
Proven experience in strategic leadership, operationalizing a vision, and achieving impactful results.
Strong organizational management skills, including clear communication and transparency.
Experience building effective relationships across a complex organizational structure.
Skilled fundraiser with a track record of successful fundraising and relationship building with relevant funders.
Ability to represent us to the public, media, and cultural organizing spaces.
Commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion, fostering an inclusive environment for people of different faiths, perspectives, backgrounds, generations, and cultures.
Demonstrated ability to lead and manage a large, dynamic, and evolving organization dedicated to community organizing.
A fully remote organization, with travel expected and required.
