Job Description Job Description The Accounting Assistant II will contribute to the PTSD Foundation of America's mission while reporting directly to the Accounting Manager. They will assist with all day-to-day accounting activities, including payroll, accounts payable and receivable, credit card transactions, and data storage maintenance.
Job Description: The Accounting Assistant II will answer the Accounting Manager and will be responsible for data entry of payroll, accounts payable/receivable, cash receipts, credit cards, and check runs into the accounting software.
Responsibilities: The Accounting Assistant II has the following responsibilities and duties:
Accurate data entry of weekly payroll with complete confidentiality.
Receive and process monetary donations including checks, cash, and gift cards.
Receive and process payables and manage and track monthly scheduled payments.
Maintain filing systems to ensure accuracy, easy access, and propriety.
Gather and organize information and data for required record-keeping and reporting needs.
Provided ADP reports to the Finance management team on a weekly basis.
Receive and process multiple credit card transactions per department, requesting receipts from various credit card users, and holding firm to Finance Department deadlines.
Minimum Qualifications -
Equivalent to (3) years of full-time general clerical experience involving computations, financial or statistical record-keeping, or reporting.
Desktop and Online QuickBooks expertise.
ADP and Excel proficient.
SKILLS/ABILITIES
Work in a standard office environment with the manual dexterity necessary to perform the essential functions of this position.
Operate various office machines (i.e., computer, fax, copy, microfiche, ten key).
Understand complex mathematical computations to include payroll calculations and amortization schedules.
Understand and apply policies, rules, and procedures related to departmental operation.
Accurately maintain logs, filing systems, journals, and ledgers.
Deal with others in a tactful and courteous manner, verbally and in writing.
Accurately complete data on prescribed forms.
Perform assigned tasks independently.
KNOWLEDGE
Principles and methods of complex financial and statistical account clerical work.
Basic principles of supervision; and alphabetical and numeric filing procedures.
Experience with Tax Exempt Nonprofit organizations (preferred)
Compensation: The PTSD Foundation offers the following:
Hourly: $22 -$24
