The compensation for a traditional 3-unit course is $8,502.
The Department of Education in the School of Education & Counseling Psychology at
Santa Clara University invites applicants for a part-time lecturer to teach “Technology for
TK-12 Teachers” course in 2023-2024.
Basic Qualifications
Master degree in Education or related field
Selected candidate will have expertise and teaching experience in technology that includes but is not limited to:
Acquainting teacher credential candidates with learning theories, practices, hardware, software applications, and web resources that are useful in integrating technology into the daily practice of K-12 teachers, whether working in-person or online.
Preferred Qualifications
Doctoral level and licensed candidates preferred.
Responsibilities
Fulfill all responsibilities associated with teaching the “Technology for TK-12 Teachers” course, including but not limited to:
Teach no more than two courses per quarter, and no more than four courses over three academic quarters (fall, winter, spring).
Conducting and appearing at all assigned class meetings in a timely and
prepared manner that demonstrates a command of the discipline and skill in presenting it effectively;
Assigning and evaluating assignments that align with the technology course description and course learning outcomes, and providing timely feedback to students;
Holding regular weekly office hours on campus and/or online.
Submitting student grades that are appropriate, accurate and fair measures of student performance to the Office of the Registrar by the designated deadline;
Administering numerical and narrative evaluations for all courses;
Teaching from an approved syllabus or working with the Chair to design an appropriate syllabus.
Fulfilling other academic duties as may be assigned by the Chair of the
Department of Education
Start date varies per quarter.
