Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Professional Laitram LLC is seeking an experienced environmental, health and safety (EHS) professional to support all elements and functional areas of the Laitram EHS Management System for our Louisiana and Twinsburg Ohio operations. This position requires a strong background in safety and industrial hygiene risk management. Ergonomic experience is a plus. The EHS Professional will report directly into the Corporate EHS Manager and will be based out of Laitram’ s Harahan, Louisiana office.

Responsibilities:
Provide comprehensive EHS support for operations in Harahan and Hammond Louisiana and Twinsburg Ohio
Analyze jobs, processes or sites for safety, health, ergonomic and environmental risks
Chemical
Indoor air quality
Ergonomic tools
Waste / stormwater or other environmental sampling / characterization
Maintain register of legal requirements
Work with various groups to develop engineering controls
EHS program development, implementation and/or maintenance
PPE selection
Audit facilities
Facilitate formal root cause analyses for incidents and other non-conformances
Track corrective actions to closure
External Reporting
Annual Solid and hazardous waste
Maintain Functional Job Description program
Drive leading metrics
Conduct and/or develop appropriate safety and environmental training for managers, supervisors, and employees
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Industrial / Occupational Safety or closely related field. Other degrees may be considered based on experience. Master’s degree a plus
Experience in a formal Environmental and/or Safety management system
Five or more years of experience in an EHS role
Self-managed professional with the ability to anticipate and react to the needs of multiple managers and organizational needs without direct supervision
Ability to present and communicate at all levels of an organization
Board of Certified Safety Professionals and/or American Board of Industrial Hygiene certifications are a plus
