Job Site Location: Grand Prairie, Texas Pay Rate: $13 Per Hour Schedule: 7:30am-6:30pm Sunday to Saturday Full time : 7:30am-4:30pm (1 hour lunch)) Or 7:30pm -6:30pm 4 days only (1 hour lunch ) Overtime Available? Unknown Job Type: Contract;2-3 months; may extend Job Summary: The duties of the Animal Care Attendant are varied. Ranging from computer work to animal care which offers a great deal of contact with the animals. The primary duty of Animal Care Attendant is to ensure our adoption floor is “Grand Opening” ready at all times, prepped and maintained throughout the day. Duties/Responsibilities: Cleaning cages and kennels

Dog walking

Adoption visits

Caring for shelter animals

Prepping holding areas with appropriate supplies

Washing dishes, toys, and other items

Laundry and general housekeeping

Building upkeep- ensuring the shelter is presentable inside and out

Maintaining kennel cards for each animal

Other duties as assigned per a to-do list:

Example: - Deep cleaning play yards - Deep cleaning visit rooms and maintaining visit room supply bins - Prepping and handing out enrichment items - Organizing designated areas - Uploading animal photos - Unloading deliveries - Assisting citizens with / sorting through donations - Creating kennel tags Required Skills/Abilities: Valid Texas Class C Driver’s License.

Must be able to work flexible schedule, only working 40 hours.

Must be comfortable with animals.

At least 6 months experience of animal care and handling.

Must have a deep love and respect for all animals.

Must have the ability to remove animals from and return them to their cages and kennels.

Must have the ability to follow exact instructions and work independently.

Must be willing to learn shelter operations and general shelter duties.

Education and Experience: High school Diploma or GED.

Physical Requirements: Must have good physical endurance, with the ability to stand and walk for up to 8-10 hours, lift over 50lbs and willingness to do hard physical labor.
