About the Job:
As a Veterinary Technician/Assistant in our Emergency/Critical Care department, you will be responsible for:
+ Shifts: 3-12's, Overnight .
+ Caring for a variety of cases- Emergency and Specialty Medicine.
+ Must be able to prioritize patient hourly treatments and delegate tasks. Triage critical patients, recognize changes in patient status and report to the doctor, educate/update owners on patient status, and discharge patients from the hospital.
+ Assessing hospitalized patients needs and communicating details to the DVM overseeing the case.
+ Inpatient treatments and nursing care throughout the shift.
+ Calculating and administering medication, fluid additives, CRI's
+ Partnering with DVM's in patient assessment, diagnostics, treatments, and procedures.
+ Obtaining and processing laboratory samples such as blood, urine, and, free fluid.
+ Placement and maintenance of nasogastric tube, nasal cannula, central venous catheters.
+ Utilizing different modalities of imaging for patient assessment.
+ Executing, monitoring, and recovering all assigned sedation and anesthetic events.
+ Surgical assisting for minor (non-specialty) procedures.
Our compensation for this role typically falls between $23.00 and $30.20 hourly. Compensation is based on skillset, experience, and licensure. We offer an additional shift differential for swing and grave shifts.
About You:
+ A minimum of 2 years of experience working in a veterinary hospital setting is required. 1 year of ECC experience is preferred.
+ RVT or VTS preferred but not required.
+ Comprehensive understanding and experience with anesthetic monitoring.
+ Proficiency in processing basic laboratory specimens and working knowledge of radiographic techniques is required
+ Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment and commitment to develop long-term relationships with colleagues, clients, and community is required.
+ Positive outlook and ability to work well in a collaborative environment.
+ Passion for providing the highest quality in patient care.
+ Excellent communication and organizational skills are required, and the ability to deliver exceptional client service is expected.
