Senior Associate, Corporate Development

Job Description Job Description As a key member of the business development team, the Senior Associate, Corporate Development is responsible for supporting all aspects of Ligand's investment and general strategy functions. This position reports to the VP, Strategic Planning and Investment Analytics. The candidate will work in a team environment, collaborating with various departments and will have significant exposure to senior corporate leadership.

Key Job Responsibilities
Perform financial valuation and other qualitative analysis on target investment candidates
Assist and creation of presentation materials for Investment Committee and Board of Directors review
Facilitate due diligence within a cross-functional team
Support investment offers and/or negotiation activities with written materials and additional ad-hoc financial analysis
Monitor market conditions, evaluate companies and/or assets and maintain potential deal list
Provide financial modeling for various internal strategic projects
Review license agreements
Perform interviews with KOLs, physicians, payors, etc. as part of due diligence
Other duties as required
BS in Finance, Accounting or Scientific-related discipline (Pre-MBA)
2-5 years of related experience at investment bank, private equity firm, management consulting firm or biotech industry corporate development group
Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint and Word skills. Familiarity with Factset or similar software
Working knowledge of biology and drug development processes, including clinical and commercial activities
Strong business presentation and communication skills. Ability to work independently and effectively multi-task
