Director of Global Distribution Operations
Lasko Products, a market leader in home comfort products for over 100 years, is looking to add a Director of Global Distribution Operations to the team. This role can sit from Fort Worth,TX or Franklin, TN.
The Director of Global Distribution Operations will focus on successfully leading Lasko’s highly complex distribution operations and logistics teams. This role will be recognized as the authority in implementing facilities, systems, and processes that will support Lasko’s successful operations and future business growth. This role will ensure the execution of projects necessary to deliver robust, cost-effective capabilities which require a strong emphasis on managing multiple stakeholders and proactive communication. Extensive multisite leadership in the distribution/warehousing industry experience, along with the ability to practice outstanding judgment to plan and accomplish company goals will be a priority. Essential Functions
Lead multiple distribution centers (5+) ranging in square footage from [from 100k to 1M square feet] in locations throughout the US and Canada
Oversee and verify the accuracy of incoming and outgoing shipments, handling and disposition of merchandise, and keeping of warehouse inventory.
Ensure that corporate programs regarding safety, security, care of equipment, and facility are enforced; thereby guaranteeing OSHA compliance.
Effect change to achieve weekly productivity, CPU ( cost per unit), fill rate, on time shipment and OTIF goals.
Work directly with staff to define workflows, jobs, and responsibilities and staff, develop, supervise, and direct all DC personnel
Drive improvements and spearhead the deployment of key projects to enhance warehouse operations
Maintain alignment of communication across Lasko stakeholders and executives
Apply knowledge of warehousing and distribution/supply chain concepts, processes, and trends in the design, recommendation, and implementation of material handling and warehousing alternatives.
Vet, acquire, and manage external consulting resources as necessary to execute and deliver quality project outcomes
Eliminate operational constraints to ensure on-time delivery to customers, suppliers and manufacturing operations.
Ensure vendor contract performance is monitored and delivers expected results as agreed in relevant contracts. Manage vendor service budgets and negotiate resolution to any performance/cost issues.
Manage annual performance evaluations, goal progress, talent management.
Experience/Skill Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Logistics or related academic discipline or equivalent professional experience (Master’s a plus)
10+ years of progressive experience with a focus on Operations/Supply Chain.
Multiple-site leadership responsibility with high-sku volume background
Led transformational and/or cross functional projects
Strong interpersonal skills, the ability to motivate others, to direct activity from a position of informal influence, to negotiate conflict situations, and to forge consensus between competing points of view
Demonstrated outstanding written/verbal communication skills, and a proven capability to present complex concepts in a concise and understandable way to a variety of audiences including the highest level of the organization.
Exhibits strong problem solving and conflict management skills.
Demonstrated excellent coaching, mentoring, and people development skills.
Experience with distribution operations site startup including 3PL
Proven ability to convert business requirements into detailed roadmap covering physical layouts, storage/material handling equipment requirements
Experience in WMS and business intelligence systems- both on going management and system implementation.
Ability to communicate a vision of continuous improvement building a culture focused on efficiency, reduced cost, and operational effectiveness
Ability to use a broad business acumen and holistic perspective to see opportunities and risks of potential trade-offs.
Extensive experience working with and building budgets, P&L statements, and logistics requirements
Experience working with retail/distribution/Ecommerce customers (WMT, Amazon, etc.) and drop ship customers.
