JOB DESCRIPTION:
Responsibilities
Performs general accounting activities, including the preparation, maintenance and reconciliation of ledger accounts and financial statements such as balance sheets, profit-and-loss statements.
Prepares, records, analyzes, and reports accounting transactions and ensures the integrity of accounting records for completeness, accuracy and compliance with accepted accounting policies and principles.
Takes ownership of the financial statements and prepares variance analysis monthly and presents findings to senior leadership.
Provides accounting analysis to operations and makes recommendations.
Assist in securitization cash reporting and analysis of securitized entity cashflow.
Document internal controls surrounding the tasks performed to ensure completion of close checklist and compliance with SOX regulations.
Establish productive relationships within the accounting team, other internal departments, and outside partners.
Represent the organization on ad hoc projects and perform in project leadership roles and/or supervise the activities of lower-level personnel.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with a focus in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience.
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) designation or working towards.
2 to 3 years of accounting experience preferred.
Normally receives little instruction on day-to-day work, general instructions on new assignments.
Big picture thinking to evaluate financial details and their implications for the business.
Ability to multi-task while working on a high-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
Candidate should have strong interpersonal skills, ability to work well on a team and a positive disposition.
Very proficient with Excel and solid understanding of databases and extracting information through SQL scripts
