Job Summary:
The Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB) Director is a champion for creating and nurturing an environment that promotes inclusivity, equity, and respect for diversity in all its forms. This role involves strategic and operational leadership in advancing our organization's commitment to social justice, diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging. The DEIB Director will collaborate in partnership with the VP of Development, Marketing, and DEI to drive the Strategic Plan's execution and play a pivotal role in the Race Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee's initiatives.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide expert DEIB consultation and support to all organizational divisions and programs, ensuring the integration of these principles in all aspects of our work.
Contribute to organizational groups, ensuring that DEIB perspectives are integral to all initiatives and decisions.
Actively participates in the Race, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Committee, aligning our policies and systems with our Anti-Racism and Social Justice Commitments.
Participates in reviewing, resolving employee, community, and individuals served complaints.
Offer guidance on DEIB-related initiatives, programs, and activities, ensuring alignment with our organizational values.
Collaborate on strategic planning and setting DEIB goals and objectives.
Participate in community engagement efforts to promote equity, health equity, and social justice.
Enhance internal and external communications to reflect our DEIB commitments.
Develop and monitor DEIB metrics to track and report progress towards our social justice goals.
Minimum Qualifications:
Lived experience or significant engagement in community work focusing on social justice, diversity, and inclusion.
A Master's Degree in a related field (e.g., public health, social justice) is highly regarded.
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field, with proven leadership in DEIB initiatives.
Strong project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Strong ability to think independently, use innovative solutions to solve problems, and make sound decisions under the guidance of the VP of Development, Marketing and DEIB mission and framework.
Experience in designing and implementing DEIB training programs.
Preferred experience in working with diverse groups and addressing systemic discrimination.
Excellent communication skills, with bilingual abilities considered a plus.
Ability to work remotely as required.
