General Position Summary: This position will be responsible for locking up the church buildings and gate during the evenings after any parish activities.
Principal Accountabilities:
Ensures all buildings, rooms, and gates are locked up and secured after use and all lights are turned off
Becomes familiar with the weekly schedule and who will be using the facilities
Check all areas of the facility, parking lots and grounds during the evening.
Clean up on Saturdays and get area ready for any food sale events
Recognize safety issues and fix any problems that arise
Takes out the trash the day before trash days before closing the gates and remove all weeds around church
Typical Decisions and/or Recommendations Made in This Position:
Will need to call appropriate personal with any safety concerns
Supervision Given and/or Received:
Will need to supervise all the buildings to ensure they are properly locked up for the night.
Internal Contacts:
Will work with the business manager, priests, and office staff to coordinate use of buildings and facilities.
Will need to communicate with parish volunteers to become familiar with parish events.
Working Conditions and/or Physical Requirements:
This position works mostly outside and will be standing/walking during the duration of a regular shift.

Education and Experience Preferred:
High School Diploma
Must possess necessary building supervision skills and knowledge.
Knowledge and Skills Preferred:
Familiar with reading a calendar to determine activities.
Able to walk around the building
Knowledge of using different kinds of locking devices and mechanisms.
Ability to perform outlined tasks with minimal supervision.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Position may require lifting and exposure to chemicals, dust, dirt and bacteria.
Tasks must be performed according to the time frame provided so as to avoid the spread of undesirable smells, bacteria, rodents, and/or insects.
