Your new role

As our new Senior Managing Consultant, you will join our stellar team that supports clients with a wide range of environmental issues. We invite you to bring your Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) compliance skills into play as you contribute to innovative and sustainable solutions for our clients in our Indianapolis or Cincinnati offices. To succeed in this role, you must have a minimum of 12-15 years of experience in environmental consulting or a broad spectrum of experience in environmental, health and safety compliance within industrial operations.

Your key responsibilities will be:

Identifying and pursuing business development opportunities

Managing projects, clients, and regulatory agency relations

Critically reviewing and interpreting local, state, and federal environmental regulations, compiling and drafting regulatory applicability determinations, and communicating findings, to co-workers, clients, and regulatory agencies

Overseeing the preparation of comprehensive federal and state environmental permit applications and/or plans

Participating in local, national and international scientific and trade group meetings

Conducting site visits

Meeting Ramboll and client safety training and workplace safety requirements

You will work with all levels of technical expertise from entry level team members to members with decades of experience, many of whom are subject matter experts in their own fields. About you

These include:

B.S./M.S./Ph.D. degree in Engineering or Environmental Sciences, or related discipline

12-15 years of experience in environmental consulting or a broad spectrum of experience in environmental, health and safety compliance within industrial operations.

Professional registration/certification (e.g., PE, CSP, CHMM) considered a plus

Strong written and oral communication skills

Demonstrated capabilities in understanding, interpreting, and applying environmental regulations to real-world situations

Understanding of EHS issues and agency-approved methods and guidance

Ability to externally manage client and regulatory agency relationships and internally manage staff and competing project priorities

Demonstrated business development capabilities.

Personal qualities that will help you succeed in this role include being a confident communicator with superior management skills, having natural leadership talent and the ability to motivate multidisciplinary teams across geographical borders. Successful candidates will also have the ability to generate and maintain a sufficient volume of business to support company growth.
