Job Description

We are seeking Genetics Counselors to join our teams across the US.

Responsibilities

Obtain and analyze detailed family medical histories to assess the risk of inherited conditions

Educate patients and their families about the nature, inheritance patterns, and implications of genetic disorders

Interpret and communicate complex genetic test results to patients in a clear and understandable manner

Provide counseling and support to individuals and families coping with the emotional, psychological, and ethical implications of genetic disorders

Facilitate informed decision-making regarding genetic testing, reproductive options, and disease management

Serve as a liaison between patients, families, and other healthcare professionals, coordinating care and ensuring effective communication

Stay up to date with the latest developments in genetics, research, and testing technologies

Participate in research activities and contribute to the advancement of the field of genetic counseling

Maintain accurate and confidential patient records and adhere to ethical and legal guidelines

Clearance

Pass/possess Public Trust

Required Qualifications

Master's degree in Genetic Counseling from an accredited program

Certification from the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) or the Canadian Association of Genetic Counsellors (CAGC)

Strong background in genetics, molecular biology, and related fields

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey complex information to diverse audiences

Empathy, emotional intelligence, and the ability to provide compassionate support to patients and families

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams

Proficiency in using electronic medical records and other relevant software applications

Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of advances in the field

Adherence to ethical principles and standards of practice in genetic counseling
