Position Summary:

We are looking for an analyst to help with our Technology Commercialization team. This employee aids in identifying, evaluating, and commercializing the technologies developed with the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston (UTHealth).

Position Key Accountabilities:

Assists the license managers with the development of invention disclosure.

Helps to evaluate new inventions for product and market potential.

Researches scientific, patent, and commercial publications and attends scientific seminars.

Assists Technology Manager in meetings with inventors to identify product/market potential of invention and identify potential licenses.

Assists in maintaining intellectual property database.

Other duties as assigned

Certification/Skills:

Knowledge of licensing practices;

Intellectual property law knowledge is preferred.

Bachelor’s degree in business administration, chemistry, biology, or related field; with at least one year towards MBA, JD, or degree in scientific field.

No experience is required, but prior knowledge and experience in the life sciences is highly desirable.

Physical Requirements:

Exerts up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds frequently and/or a negligible amount constantly to move objects.

Residency Requirement:

Employees must permanently reside and work in the State of Texas.
