Registry Registered Dietitian

A registry dietitian will work under the administrative direction of the Director of Food and Nutritional Services and work on a PRN basis.
We are looking for a knowledgeable dietitian who is passionate about helping patients achieve their goals and lead healthier lives. Dietitians will develop trusting partnerships with their patients. They will learn about patient health concerns, goals, dietary restrictions, and preferences and work with them to create a healthier nutrition plan. They may also participate in demonstrations or seminars to inform the public about nutrition and promote healthier eating habits.
Successful dietitians are experts on all matters concerning diet and nutrition. They should be analytical, caring, and knowledgeable with good communication, active listening, problem solving, and computer skills. They should also be passionate public speakers who can get others excited about eating healthy foods.
Directs dietary care of patients and residents with special needs including screening, assessment, intervention, care and discharge planning to ensure patient nutrition needs and satisfaction levels are met.
Educates medical staff and counsel patients/residents and their families on proper nutritional care
Manage and promote food and nutrition programs according to facility standards, policies and procedures.
Perform regular tray assessments.
Participate in quality improvement projects.
Attend patient rounding.
Developing nutrition plans for patients, including specifications, methods and timetables depending on patient and resident status and needs.
Accountable for execution of service quality by maintaining highest level of delivery.
Maintains facility standards for nutrition assessments and care planning of patients and residents.
Work with chef to create menus for patients and cafeteria visitors.
Compiling information and tracking client progress towards their health goals.
Entering patient information into patient database.
Keeping informed about the latest discoveries in nutrition.
Speaking to groups to promote healthy eating habits and proper nutrition.
Ensure compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
Probes potential problems and apprises manager of status on resolution of problems or issues.
Knowledge of all current processes and procedures.
Bachelor’s degree in nutrition, health, or a related field
Registration required
At least 2 years of experience in a related field of dietary work
A satisfactory combination of education, training, and experience will be considered
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Exceptional communication, problem-solving, public speaking, and listening skills
Willingness to continue training and research to keep current on the latest discoveries and developments in the field
Strong computer and data entry skills
Compassion and genuine interest in helping others develop better eating habits
