We are currently seeking a Senior Roadway Design Engineer to join our Infrastructure - Transportation/Highway & Rail Team at our office in either Atlanta or Duluth, GA.
YOUR IMPACT:

Addressing the immediate travel needs and expectations of todays society and anticipating the mobility and modal challenges and opportunities of the future requires comprehensive planning, engineering and a commitment to innovation and sustainable design. CHAs transportation team embraces new challenges from roads and highways to roundabouts and rail lines.
The Senior Roadway Design Engineer, a key role at CHA, leads the technical execution of projects within their discipline and provides expert consultation in one or more areas of the respective field of engineering. The professional in this role plans, schedules, conducts and coordinates detailed phases of a project independently with other engineering disciplines and project management staff. This individual is expected to provide guidance, mentorship, technical review of work completed by junior level staff as well as provide technical development of proposals and external presentations (i.e., clients, public, regulatory agency, etc.)
The Senior Roadway Design Engineer resolves complex technical issues and continuously monitors the progress and performance on a project to ensure efficient production. Additionally, the individual in this role recognizes technical discrepancies in analytical results and makes appropriate corrections following standard procedures and recommends alterations to development and design to improve quality of design.

REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering or related required
Professional Engineer License (PE) required
GDOT PDP Certification preferred
Minimum of 10 years progressive engineering experience required
GDOT experience required
Roadway design or drainage expertise preferred
Expert knowledge of the respective engineering discipline(s) with a proven ability to practically apply best practices
Advanced proficiency with engineering, computational, and modeling software (Revit, AutoCAD, MicroStation, etc.)
Understands QA/QC procedures and understands basic business practices and laws related to engineering
Ability to demonstrate leadership skills and effectively work in a collaborative environment
Effective verbal and written communication skills with the ability to adapt communication style to suit various audiences
Proficiency with MS Office software required
Active role in a professional engineering society/organization preferred
